About Us
ELOSCN (Edinburgh and Lothians Out of School Care Network) was established in 2003 to provide Out of School Care services to communities.
Recognising the need to provide quality, affordable childcare for families with children of school age, ELOSCN currently operates thirteen breakfast and after school clubs and two playgroups providing parents with flexible childcare support and the children with a fun and nurturing experience outside school.
Our breakfast and after school clubs operate primarily on primary school premises with operating hours ranging from 7:30 to 17:45 across our Club Network. Working in partnership with each of the primary schools, our qualified staff ensure that each child is safely handed over to the school at the start of the day, and received in the same manner at the end of the school day.
Our playgroups are run from community centres and operate Monday – Friday. More details can be found on North Berwick Playgroup and Stoneyhill Playgroup page.

A safe and happy service – our underlying principles
Each service provides a quality care service where every child is respected as an individual. We will ensure that the needs of all children are met by adhering to the following principles.
1. FOOD AND SNACKS
A healthy snack will be provided at the service when the children arrive. Any dietary or cultural requirements of the children will be met. These requirements can be discussed with parent/carers and noted on the Registration/Membership form. A light breakfast is provided for children attending Breakfast Services. This normally consists of toast, cereal, milk and water.
- PREMISES AND ACCESS
The premises meet accepted standards and conform to Health and Safety Requirements as well as Fire Regulations. We have an agreed standard of cleanliness, and all members of staff take care to ensure that the premises remain clean and safe for its users.
We adhere to the staff ratios, as approved by the Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland which includes each child being on a daily register.
- SUGGESTIONS AND COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
We welcome comments or suggestions you may have to help us improve our services. Our complaints policy, which is available for all service users to read. Children, parent/carers, staff and volunteers are all encouraged to express satisfaction and make suggestions or complaints about the service provided.
Parents/carers wishing to discuss any matters of concern should approach the Service manager in the first instance.
